Breaking the Ring Cycle: "In July 2002, Martine and Joshua Taylor, the grandson of Bergdorf Goodman scion Andrew Goodman, eloped while driving through Arizona. Her ring was a makeshift job fashioned from the gold foil off the chocolate left on their hotel pillow. Months later, his grandmother, the legendary Nina Goodman, offered Martine three unset diamonds she'd had for decades, each more than a carat. Martine immediately took them to [Karen] Karch, who set them in raw platinum squares." Pictured: "Belgian Tiara" ring in 18k rose gold and colorless diamonds, and "Flutter" ring in 18k rose gold with colorless and yellow diamonds and a rose-cut pear-shaped diamond drop.
