The Calling: AN ARTISTIC COLLABORATION with HOLLE SINGER

After the success of the Marilyn Minter photography campaign, KarenKARCH commissioned award-winning editor HOLLE SINGER to continue the seductive tale of the KarenKARCH heroine. “The Calling” is a darkly provocative lesson on pleasure and danger in which a mysterious man taunts his lovely captive into submission with her insatiable desire for Karen KARCH  jewelry.  “The Calling” will be shown on the KarenKARCH website as well as in the newly renovated boutique in NoLIta. This was HOLLE SINGER’S directorial debut.

KAREN KARCH RUBY EARRINGS SEDUCE DENZEL WASHINGTON IN “DÉJÀ VU”

While Prince may wax poetic about diamonds and pearls, rubies take center stage as both leading lady and plot twister in the anticipated Tony Scott film Déjà Vu, starring Denzel Washington, Val Kilmer and Jim Caviezel (release date: November 22, 2006).

Tony Scott’s mind-bending tale takes a turn when an ATF agent (Denzel Washington) stumbles upon one of Karen Karch’s ruby earrings during an investigation. The earring sparks Washington to experience “déjà vu” and embark on a twisted journey back in time to save a woman’s life – before it’s too late.

“Déjà vu" is French for "already seen" and is used to refer to when a person experiences the feeling that they have seen, experienced, or been someplace before. This thriller was filmed in the French Quarter in New Orleans.

Experience déjà vu for yourself with a pair of Karen Karch’s Inner Circle earrings. Maybe you’ve seen them before. But where?

Available in platinum with rubies or in platinum with diamonds online and at our store. Please email customerservice@karenkarch.com for more information.

Seduction and Adornment
An artistic collaboration with Marilyn Minter

September 2006: Jewelry designer Karen Karch, renowned for her raw yet refined heirloom pieces, is pleased to announce the launch of her much anticipated e-commerce site and redesign of her NoLita boutique. Remaining true to Karen Karch’s study in contradictions, these new ventures will reinforce the designer’s deft mastery of juxtaposition and her singular ability to find beauty in the unconventional.

To mark this next phase of her evolution as both an artist and designer, Karen Karch commissioned artist and painter Marilyn Minter to create a groundbreaking image campaign that will be integrated into both Karen Karch’s website and the upcoming new store design.

The result, Seduction and Adornment, is a brilliant photographic journey that draws you into the world of Karen Karch. Expressed through the original photography of Marilyn Minter, who Karen Karch commissioned after seeing Minter’s critically acclaimed paintings at the Whitney Biennial 2006, this bold, beautiful and gritty image campaign is both incendiary and provocative. In addition, Seduction and Adornment for Karen Karch is Marilyn Minter’s first commercial campaign.

Seduction and Adornment was unveiled at a cocktail reception and gallery installation in September 2006, marking the beginning of a year long press and image campaign that will unfold through 2007.
